What is a Wildlife Ambassadors Workshop?

Our education team from the Prairie Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre enters your classroom equipped with supplies, enthusiasm and passion for a jam-packed one hour workshop! These dynamic sessions consist of existing demonstration with the help of our Ambassadors, of course, and hands-on activities. Upon completion of the workshop, the classroom will have developed an excitement and awareness for the natural world and their role within it.

    Workshops Currently Available

Babies, Bunnies, Beaks (Grades K-2)

This workshop is perfect for future biologists! Students will explore wildlife found in our own backyard. Our education team will introduce the differences found between domestic pets and wild animals through hands on activities and a special visit from Onyx, our lop-eared rabbit ambassador.

Prairie Raptors (All Ages)

Students will take a look closer at raptors by investigating their characteristics and where they are found in the wild. Together we will discover how they evolved from dinosaurs and how they found themselves at the top of the food web. Our wildlife ambassadors will accompany the education team to enhance the learning experience.

Escape to the Wild (Grades 6 and up)

Come explore the importance in conserving our wildlife. We will investigate the various species at risks found in our area and why they are becoming extinct. Our team will also have a presentation on the role of the Prairie Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre and we will discuss career opportunities in wildlife conservation and rehabilitation.
